DAWN M. SCIARRINO, ESQ.
Dawn M. Sciarrino has been engaged in the private practice
of communications law since 1990. She founded Sciarrino
& Association, PLLC in 2004. Ms. Sciarrino has particular
experience in broadcast regulation, political advertising,
multiple ownership and broadcast transactions. She represents
state broadcasters’ associations, publicly traded
companies and local broadcasters alike. Ms. Sciarrino
is admitted to the bars of District of Columbia, New York,
and Virginia, and is admitted to practice before the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Court
of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She is
a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association,
the New York State Bar Association, the Virginia State
Bar, and the District of Columbia Bar.
Taking a leave of absence from her legal career during
the 1994 and 1996 elections, Ms. Sciarrino was a principal
in a nationally recognized political consulting firm,
where she was a media consultant to numerous local, state
and federal candidates. A television and radio director
and producer, Ms. Sciarrino is the recipient of the prestigious
“Polly” awarded by the American Association
of Political Consultants for best radio advertisement
in a congressional campaign. Prior to her legal career
she was also a congressional campaign press secretary,
campaign advisor and assistant media buyer. Ms. Sciarrino
is also a former Congressional Page.
Ms. Sciarrino has been a featured speaker on CNBC and
at trade events such as the National Association of Broadcasters
(“NAB”) Convention, NAB Radio Show, state
broadcast association meetings and the Women’s Campaign
Research Fund.
Ms. Sciarrino was also a law clerk in the Fairness/Political
Programming Branch of the Mass Media Bureau at the Federal
Communications Commission, and is a graduate of the American
Campaign Academy. Ms. Sciarrino is a graduate of Ithaca
College (B.A. History 1985) and the Columbus School of
Law at the Catholic University of America (J.D. 1990)
where she was a member of the Institute for Communications
Law Studies. She is an associate member of the Association
of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers. |
